On this Memorial Day I am grateful for my dad.

1. I am grateful you served our country and came home safe.

2. I am grateful for all you taught me, right from wrong, my strong work ethic, to admit my vulnerabilities and ask for help.

3. I am grateful you chose mom as your wife. I learned how to have a good marriage by watching both of you.

4. I am grateful you gave me 2 sisters as friends.

5. I am grateful you were absolutely the best dad ever!

And I am grateful you washed my car this weekend!

What are you grateful for this week?

I’m grateful for so much today. But in keeping with the spirit of honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms – I am grateful for my oldest brother who we called Jr. He was a real piece of work: disciplined, conservative and frugal with his money. He was a Navy Man! Even though we butted heads on many things, we came together in the garden. He increased my love of growing food and we would talk for hours about our gardens. His in CA; mine in TX. He passed away two years ago this month. And you know what – as sick as he was the last months of his life – when we arrived at his home, he had tomatoes ripening on the vine.; trees full of citrus fruits and over 50 vines heavy laden with grapes. It showed his dedication to his garden, family and his life. I miss him dearly but I am grateful for all that he meant to our family and his service to our country.

That’s beautiful. I miss my Dad. He was also a vet.

Great list and you made me realize all I’m grateful for.
    1. My sister who is my best friend
    2. My mom who is so adventurous and generous
    3. That I’m able to work for myself.
